A new director will be in place, it is hoped, by June. Until then Community Relations Coordinator, Gustave Smith, will serve as Acting  Director.

The Food Bank of the Albemarle has undergone many changes since Ms. Wagner's arrival in Elizabeth City. A capital campaign was undertaken, and a move from a small, rundown warehouse to a brand new 20,000 square foot warehouse facility. Distribution is currently between two and three million pounds of food, compared to 750,000 pounds in 1997. Member agencies more than doubled, and local donations have quadrupled over those last year!

The staff, volunteers, agencies, and board members will truly miss Cindy and wish her the best of luck in Florida.
