| The Elizabeth City Foundation has given a grant in the amount of $20,0000
to support the mission of the Food Bank of the Albemarle.
When the Food Bank first opened its doors in 1982, the Elizabeth City Foundation was there to help us to help our hungry neighbors. Their first donation paid for freezers and a truck to use for storage and transportation of food. The foundation has always expressed its concern "over the plight of those suffering the consequences of poverty." This grant will help us to continue to support those activities and needs which enhance our services, and make us better able to meet the needs of those people living in poverty. With this grant, we can provide approximately 140,0000 pounds of food or about 115,000 meals. Our Board, Staff, Volunteers, and the hungry men, women, and children who will benefit from the generosity of the Elizabeth City Foundation, say THANK YOU for your partnership in our mission and ministry." |
