"If music be the food of love, play on..."

The Can-It Series ended September 1 with another wonderful season of beautiful music, excellent, exceptionally skilled artists, and on a high note of great success.

The Can-It Series presented some of the area's finest serious musicians in concert.  All concerts were benefits for local hunger relief and took place at Christ Episcopal Church on McMorrine Street in downtown Elizabeth City.  Admission was $1.00 or a one-can-of-food donation to the Food Bank of the Albemarle.

The series was brought to us by BB&T and The Art Place Gallery located on Poindexter Street.

These 30-45 minute presentations provided us with midday inspiration, the perfect break in our day, or the prefect beginning to our weekends, every Friday, all through the summer.

A very special "Thank You"  goes to Cathy and Gordon Kreplin.  Without their 'labor of love' and hundreds of hours planning and scheduling, we would not have had this opportunity to hear or see the beautiful performances of these talented artists.

The program for 2001 is in the planning stages now.  Watch for the notices coming out in the early spring.
