Sewells Point Navy Golf Course

The Associates of William E. Wood and Associates, REALTORS and the Rotary Club of Northside Norfolk are hosting a golf tournament fund raiser on Tuesday, 24 April 2012, at the Sewells Point Navy Golf Course (CLICK HERE for directions).  All proceeds will be donated to local foodbanks in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina to support their mission of eliminating hunger in our communities.

The 18-hole "Sewells Point" course at the Sewells Point Golf Course facility in Norfolk, Virginia features 6,280 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71 . The course rating is 70.2 and it has a slope rating of 125.  Designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA, the Sewells Point golf course opened in 1927. Navy Golf Program manages this facility, with Tom Dozier, PGA as the Golf Professional. (CLICK HERE to read more. )

These foodbanks serve those who are hungry in a service area covering thousands of square miles that includes the cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, as well as the counties of Gloucester, James City, Matthews, Surry, York, Southampton, Northampton, Sussex, Isle of Wight and Accomack, and 15 northeastern North Carolina counties.

Hunger is increasing. Census and poverty statistics clearly show that our foodbanks are a long way from meeting the need.

Your generosity would be greatly appreciated and would help to maximize our monetary contribution to these exceptional agencies.

There are so many ways you can participate in this great event and make a difference in the lives of so many people who need emergency food assistance.

Mark your calendar for ... make a donation ... form a team ... offer a prize ... the options are all here for you to take part!
