Donating Food
The founding of Albemarle Manna almost 30 years ago and its amazing growth into what is now known as the Food Bank of the Albemarle is a testament to power of “neighbor helping neighbor”.
While the Food Bank depends on government programs and major suppliers for much of the food and other products it distributes, we never lose sight of the importance of the individual’s gift. One person … one company … one local farmer … one civic organization … the Food Bank is grateful for whatever you are able to contribute.
Commonly, our greatest need is for things like canned meats, vegetables, fruits, pasta, juices, cereal, rice, beans, and diapers. Items are accepted at the Food Bank facility on Tidewater Drive at any time during regular business hours.
If your company, church group or civic organization decides to hold a food drive, FBA will provide attractive bins for the food collection, flyers and timely deliverance/pickup of the food collected. We are here to help get you organized and to make your drive a huge success. You will also receive a receipt for the number of pounds collected as well as a hearty “thank you” from our staff.
