Hunger In North Carolina

19.6% of North Carolina reisdents are considered food insecure, meaing they do not have reliable and consistent access to nutritional food. There are 7 Feeding America food banks located in NC that are aiming to help alleivate hunger for those in need.

 The North Carolina section of Feeding America's 2010 report reveals an ever-increasing need for emergency food assistance.  82% of the pantries, 72% of the kitchens and 64% of the shelters reported an increase in the number of clients in every year since 2006.
