In CY 2008 we provided over 3,200,000 pounds of food. In May 09 we provided over 341,556 pounds.

The mission of the Food Bank of the Albemarle is to fight hunger and poverty in northeast North Carolina.

 The Food Bank of the Albemarle and the Albemarle Food Pantry will be closed on July 3, 2009 to celebrate Independence Day.

Our next major event is Walk for Hunger on October 11, 2009.

Mr. Phil Dunn, Vice President of Acquisitions of BH Properties, LLC (the company that manages the old Wal-Mart shopping center recently presented a check for $2,500 to Liz Reasoner.  With it we can provide about 7,500 pounds of food.
